HI GEMMA WHATS YOUR BACKGROUND?

Paediatrics acute and primary care.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN AESTHETICS AND WHATS YOUR CURRENT JOB MIX?

I have been in aesthetics for 5 and half years.   I work half my time in the NHS as a paediatric nurse practitioner in GP land. Then the other half in my own aesthetics clinic with a mix of skin and injectable treatments.

WHAT TRAINING COURSES HAVE YOU DONE IN THE HAPPY INJECTORS CLUB?

I started my happy injector club journey with Felicity in Feb 2022, doing the advanced botulinum toxin day course. I have since completed the one to one with mid and lower face. I then returned to do tear troughs.   I have also done the business course, which I found invaluable.

WHY DID YOU GO INTO AESTHETICS?

The honest answer is as I was ageing myself and was starting to look at more treatments to prevent and turn back the clock a few years. But after being introduced to Alumier MD it changed my life as I'd always suffered with acne and wanted to help others with their own skin.

WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OR TREATMENTS IN AESTHETICS AND WHY?

I love helping people with their confidence, seeing people smile and their self-esteem and confidence return is one of the greatest rewards ever.  My favourite treatment changes week by week as I just love them all. However, if you forced my hand behind my back it would be wow fusion, as it combines microneedling and mesotherapy. It not only helps rejuvenate the skin, but it also hydrates and nourishes it with no down time.

WHATS YOUR BEST PIECE OF ADVICE?

Don't try and be a Jack-of-all-trades and master of none. Focus on one thing at a time. Master it then add other treatments into your clinic. Building your business and expertise takes time and patience.  Never stop learning.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR AESTHETICS CAREER IN FIVE YEARS?

I'd like to extend my clinic to incorporate more well-being services and have a more holistic treatment package.

FINALLY....WHAT DOES BEING A PART OF THE SUPER HAPPY MEMBERS CLUB MEAN TO YOU?

I love the community of happy Injectors Club, everyone is so friendly, no question is too small or made to feel silly for answering it. Everyone is there to support each other.
