HI ALISHA WHAT'S YOUR BACKGROUND ROLE?

I’m a dental therapist in a private practice. I qualified in 2016 from the university of Liverpool and worked in general dentistry for around 4 years and then began my career in aesthetics.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN AESTHETICS?

4 years injectables and the last 2 years doing skincare too

WHAT'S YOUR CURRENT JOB MIX?

I currently have a split week working three days in general private practice providing aesthetics and dentistry combined and then I do two days from home providing solely aesthetics

WHAT TRAINING COURSES HAVE YOU DONE WITH HAPPY INJECTORS CLUB?

My first experience with happy injectors was the business development course with Felicity looking at how to run my business properly - profit and loss etc and I found that really useful

from there I booked onto the advanced toxin course

I’ve also had treatments myself with Felicity!

WHY DID YOU GO INTO AESTHETICS?

I had a lot of patients asking for treatments and I used to refer on and then decided to explore the training. I definitely found it daunting at first and found it lonely but the HIC really helped me find my feet.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE PART OR TREATMENT IN AESTHETICS AND WHY?

Acne treatments. I love the before and after and how it boosts patient confidence! I also love toxin particularly massater and seeing the difference in my dental patients.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR AESTHETICS CAREER IN 5 YEARS TIME?

Fully working from home hopefully. I’m in the process of putting in a garden studio so can’t wait to see where that takes me but would love aesthetics to become my sole focus.

WHAT'S YOUR BEST PIECE OF ADVICE?

Trust your gut, don’t attempt things you’re not comfortable and have the courage to tell patients NO.
